Welcome to MTC! Your child has been selected by his or her teacher or school administrator to receive additional support from one of our volunteer tutors. We are excited to partner with you!
In order for your student to be matched with a tutor, please review and complete the following:
Tutoring Platform: Google Meet or in person on campus (Los Altos School District) and Zoom (Mountain View Whisman School District)
One-on-One Tutoring will be provided via Zoom or Google Meet. In LASD, in-person tutoring is available in some cases, based on district approval and tutor availability. The tutoring platform will be determined by your child’s school. Students are expected to login to remote tutoring from campus on a school issued device. In the event that a student is required to stay home from school for an extended period, please communicate with your child’s teacher and tutor to arrange a tutoring schedule.
Once your child is matched with a tutor, we will do our best to set up tutoring during the school day. Your child’s teacher or school administrator may contact you to ask for your student’s availability before or after school (8:00 – 8:30 am, 2:30 – 4:00 pm).
Please have your child familiarize themselves with the platform selected for tutoring. Here are some links to help guide your student.
Student/Family Commitment to Tutoring
- Students attend scheduled sessions on time and prepared with necessary materials and limited distractions
- When needed, students cancel sessions in advance by contacting their tutor via email
- Tutors may be reassigned if multiple remote sessions are missed
We are honored to partner with you to support your child. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our tutoring program, please contact your Tutor Program Manager via email:
