Mentor Tutor Connection volunteers work directly with the youth in the Mountain View and Los Altos communities. As an organization, we are strickly committed to providing a safe working environment for our mentors and tutors, and the students they work with.
MTC’s Youth Protection Statement
Mentor Tutor Connection is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all participants who work with children and youth. It is the duty of all participants in the Mentor Tutor Connection Programs, including tutors, mentors, Staff, and Board Members to safeguard to the best of their ability their own welfare, as well as the welfare of children and youth, and to prevent the physical, sexual, or emotional abuse of the children with whom they come in contact.
Implementing Our Policy
The Youth Protection Committee of MTC works to ensure that we comply with our policy and its intention. They check to make sure all MTC staff and volunteers who work directly with community youth complete a set of youth protection requirements set forth by our organization. These requirements have been co-developed and are administered in conjunction with the MVLA School District and the Rotary Club of Los Altos.
