Carol Fisher – MTC’s New Executive Director
We are pleased to introduce Carol Fisher, our first Executive Director. Carol will lead our organization to continue implementing our strategic plan and to accomplish our mission to help students in Los Altos and Mountain View schools achieve their potential and thrive. The new position is a half-time role and will help us improve our ability to serve even more students in the community.
Born in Amarillo Texas, Carol grew up in Los Gatos and attended West Valley College in Saratoga before transferring to Stanford where she graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering. She married her husband Larry, a fellow Stanford student, earned an MBA from Cornell, and the couple settled in Mountain View in 1986. After a career with Hewlett-Packard, Carol left the corporate world to focus on her children, David and Marilee, and get involved in the community.
Carol, a graduate of Leadership Mountain View, served as Trustee of the Mountain View Whisman School District for six years, two of those years as Board President. She has been involved in fundraising activities for a number of local organizations including participating in the Annual Campaigns of YMCA and the Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC), phone banking for Mountain View Educational Foundation, and chairing the walkathon for Bubb School and the annual social fundraiser for Los Altos Parent Preschool. Carol has also served CHAC as a Board member and Board President.
Carol is excited to join MTC as our first Executive Director because she has a belief in and commitment to our mission and is inspired by the passion that all involved have for helping local students who need it. She will work closely with the Board, staff and volunteers, and be the face of MTC for community outreach. Her goal will be to help us provide services to more young people and ensure that we are well positioned for the future.
